This is a neat photo, but for someone else who has the exact same shot, it haunts their dreams. You see, we were riding Jill’s hot hand, finding wolf after wolf along Highway 1A in Banff, when we saw a car stopped ahead. We slowed down in our approach and, as a result, were able to spot a black wolf just inside of the tree line. We spent about a half hour with the wolf. It was incredible. When it eventually disappeared, we crept forward to see what the other car was still looking at…it was this beautiful bull elk. Amazing, but more amazing than a black wolf? Nope. Dude, you have to look in your rearview mirror!
