Did you know that river otters are one of the only animals in the world that truly play and use it to build skills? You only have to spend a few minutes with the otters of Yellowstone’s Trout Lake to know that this is indeed fact. This female and her yearling pup spent 6 hours wrestling in and out of water. It was clear there was a lesson she was teaching the young otter, but it was also clear that both animals were experiencing nothing short of pure joy. And joy is the feeling you can’t help but have when observing this incredible member of the weasel family.
