This is funny. When we arrived in Yellowstone last summer, I asked Jill what she thought we’d photograph first. I said it would be a landscape image, or maybe a grizzly, given the route we were taking to reach our campsite. But she declared it would be a fox – not the easiest sight in Yellowstone. Why would I ever bet against Jill? Sure enough, after being skunked on the drive in, we pulled up to our campsite, only to find someone was already occupying it. Spock Fox. It was the only time we saw him in 2014 and while the light was far from decent, I was able to snap one quick photo before he realized he was napping in an occupied site and took off into the forest. What a way to begin the summer.
