Every week for Throwback Thursday we’ll post an image from the (slowly uploading) archive – a scanned slide or still – I took from one of my family adventures as a kid to the wilds of Yellowstone and the Canadian Rockies, or from my trips as a teen to the Great Bear Rainforest to help document the spirit bear.
Today’s photo: Pelican Row
Though I maintain I am to pelicans what garlic is to vampires, I was lucky enough to snap this shot before the pelican row dispersed to places unknown.
Mornings in Yellowstone National Park’s Hayden Valley almost always offers unique sights, especially with its omnipresent early hour fog. But as the sun broke out, the light near Alum Creek was different than any I had experienced before or since in the valley, setting me up for this memorable pelican image.
