Every week for Throwback Thursday we’ll post an image from the (slowly uploading) archive – a scanned slide or still – I took from one of my family adventures as a kid to the wilds of Yellowstone and the Canadian Rockies, or from my trips as a teen to the Great Bear Rainforest to help document the spirit bear.
Today’s photo: Last Light
In 1998, I was driving back to Roosevelt Lodge with my family after an evening of wolf watching in Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley that was cut short by a series of thunderstorms that took over the evening sky. On route back to our cabin, a small opening appeared in the clouds and the last light in the west became a brilliant red set against the black all around us.
Unbelievably, I took this photo out of the car window as my dad was driving, yet it still remains one of my favourite from my childhood.
